Cropped Suit Redo
April 27, 2010Hello!! Guess what I found?
I had mentioned in one of my recent posts that I’ve been looking for short black jackets – and I found two on my last trip to Goodwill! One is a 3/4 length Liz Claiborne jacket, and the other is a Body by Victoria jacket.
So I went back and did a re-do on last week’s Inspiration Calendar “Cropped Suit” outfit, and switched out the boyfriend blazer with these shorties.
I also wore some shorter, more fitting Ann Taylor capris that I had picked up at Goodwill last summer. What do you think?
I know what you’re thinking….the jackets are so similar that I probably could have bought just one to fill my need for a short black jacket. So I had to break it down for you to show you how completely different these jackets are, so there really was no way that I could choose between the two of them. See how they are totally NOT the same jacket:
See what I mean? Totally different jackets. Had to buy them both. I think the Body by Victoria one works the best with this outfit, but I’m sure I’ll find use for the Liz Claiborne one.
And now I’m pretty sure I’m set with these two cute short black jackets, so I can cross them off my wish list.
And once again, finding these gems reaffirms my love for secondhand shopping. In my previous life, I would have searched the malls to find these jackets, and had I found both of them, I would have been in the same predicament – instead of choosing one, I’d just buy them both. Setting me back $100+.
Now I’m just out the price of a couple lattes. Which I never drink anyways, because they’re too expensive. I’d rather buy clothes!

I have to drive by my Goodwill twice tomorrow – it’s killing me that I can’t stop. I would have bought both jackets – good choice.
