If I had to choose the top 3 things I would go specifically to Restyle first, before going to any other store, it would be:
1. High-end designer jeans
2. Dresses
3. If I needed a quick “fix” to buy a quality piece of clothing for less than $20.
So let me further explain these, and other great reasons to check out Restyle Consignment:
1. Blue Jean selection:
If you’re looking for Lucky Brand, 7 for All Mankind, Joe’s Jeans,True Religion etc. make sure you stop here first BEFORE going to Von Maur or Blond Genius. Because their inventory changes daily, there’s never a guarantee that you’re going to hit the jack-pot, but I’ve been lucky more times than not in finding some of my favorite designer brands for a very low price. Click here for more details on available sizes, typical brands and price range.
2. Dresses
Restyle has a great selection of designer brands. It’s not the largest selection in town, but it seems to be hand-picked to only have the most desired pieces on display. Click here for more details on available sizes, typical brands and price range.
3. Size of store:
Restyle is a small store, albeit packed with great merchandise. But the fact that it is small makes it simple if you know what you’re searching for (shoes, cute top, cute jacket). You can literally whisk in, check things out, and whisk out in 10 – 15 minutes. Making this even easier is the fact that the clothes are arranged by color, so if you’re looking for a black sweater or a red jacket you can go straight to the section, check it out and then be on your way. There have been many times when I’ve been on my way to meet some friends for dinner, and I’ve been 15 or so minutes early, so I just pop into Restyle to see if anything catches my eye. Which leads to the next thing I love about Restyle -
4. Location/Convenience:
It’s located on Hickman, just west of 73rd street in the Sherwood Forest shopping center (next to Baskin Robbins). There is always ample parking, which makes it easy to make a quick stop and speedy exit. And the Hickman and 73rd Street location can usually be manipulated into being “on the way” to wherever my destination is.
5. Variety/Selection
I mentioned above that Restyle is “packed” with great merchandise. When I say “packed”, I don’t mean all the clothes are crammed so tightly together that your arms hurt from trying to push the hangers to the side. I mean that all the clothes seemed to be thoughtfully hand-selected and screened. You’re not going to have to sift through a bunch of junk to get to a “treasure”, because almost every piece is a great brand, current style and in great condition. In fact, a not-very-scientific study estimates that 10% of their clothes are “new with tags”. So while I mentioned above that Restyle is a great place to pop in and pop out of quickly, it also has such a great selection in every department that you can feasible spend a couple of hours there (trust me, I’ve done this!)
Also, Restyle has something for everyone, including clothing for men, boys, girls, toddlers, and a section for plus sizes. Home decorations are also scattered throughout the store. Speaking of men’s clothing, it’s interesting to note that on one Saturday that I was in Restyle “researching” their selection, I spot-checked the typical customer demographic and found nearly 70% of the customers were men and women couples. This store is really one that the whole family can visit together.
Things to remember when visiting Restyle:
1. They only take cash or checks.
2. Be sure to check out the displays around the store. Their stylists put together cute outfit emsembles, including purses, shoes and jewelry. Like most stores, I’ve found that Restyle puts their best stuff on display, so if you’re looking for shoes, don’t just stop at the shoe section – look around because you might miss a fab find!
